The pics above were taken the day of the Ninth Ward parade during Mardi Gras.

The first few were taken while waiting on the train--a common experience for those of us who live in the 9th ward--as we must pass over the tracks as we pass from the Marigny into the Bywater. The second few were taken in my house while waiting for the parade to pass; and the last few were taken outside of my house as I enjoyed the passing parade. Mardi Gras carries with it the spirit of love that makes New Orleans home, and this parade epitomizes that spirit for many of us in the Bywater.
